A Heartfelt Thank You and a Difficult Goodbye

Dear Coast Roast Family,

This is one of the hardest messages we have ever had to write. After more than 30 years of roasting coffee and building relationships we truly cherish, we have made the very difficult decision to close Coast Roast Coffee.

Coast Roast Coffee was founded in 1991 by Jane Healy and Richard Oppen, and we have been honored to carry their vision forward as owners and operators. What began as a passion for exceptional, thoughtfully sourced organic coffee grew into something far greater, a community of loyal, kind, and deeply supportive customers who made this journey meaningful beyond words.

Over the past year, both the coffee industry and our personal lives have changed in profound ways. Skyrocketing costs, extreme import price volatility, industry consolidation, and increasingly limited access to the quality specialty coffees we rely on to roast your favorites have made it unsustainable to continue operating in a way that aligns with our mission and values, including our longstanding commitment to offering exceptional coffee at prices that remain fair and accessible to our customers. At the same time, 2025 brought life-altering medical challenges to our family that fundamentally reshaped our priorities and capacity. Together, these industry realities and personal health challenges made it clear that we could no longer sustain that balance while giving Coast Roast the level of care, energy, and commitment it requires.

As we prepare for this final chapter, we wanted to find a meaningful way to give back to the customers who have supported us for so many years. Online retail purchases of coffee and merchandise will be offered at 40% off as a sincere thank-you.

To make this level of discount possible, we will no longer be able to offer free shipping during this promotion. However, even with shipping costs included, customers will see a lower overall order total. At checkout, customers may select from available USPS and UPS shipping options.

This pricing will remain in effect until supplies are exhausted or through March 31, 2026, whichever occurs first. Products will
not be restocked once sold out.

Over the next two months, we will be roasting and distributing our final bags of coffee and will make every reasonable effort to ensure a thoughtful and respectful conclusion to this chapter.

Serving you has never been “just business” to us, it has always been personal. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes with deep gratitude for every order placed, every personal interaction, and every morning you chose to start with Coast Roast Coffee.
