Ryan spent two decades as a technology entrepreneur before stepping away to focus on family and other personal interests. Jennifer spent 10 years in banking, serving in both the International Business and Treasury Management divisions, before choosing to prioritize family and further pursue her passion for volunteer work.
As they considered what chapter should come next, Ryan and Jennifer knew they wanted to return to the kind of work that felt personal: owning and operating a small, family-run business. When they discovered Coast Roast Coffee, it felt like a natural fit.
After eight meaningful years of stewardship, Coast Roast has now closed. We are deeply grateful for every order, every interaction, and every morning you chose Coast Roast. It has been a true honor to roast coffee for you and to be part of your homes, routines, and communities over the years.
Thank you for being part of our story. We will always be grateful for your support and for the relationships that made this journey so special.
In 1991, Jane Healy and Richard Oppen embarked on their journey with Tomales Coast Roast. Their decision to embrace organic fair trade coffee was driven by a desire to offer a wholesome product while contributing to better living standards in coffee-growing regions. Juggling the responsibilities of raising their three daughters and nurturing their business, Jane and Richard steadily expanded over the years.
After dedicating 27 years to their business, Jane and Richard concluded it was time to step back and retire. They embarked on a search for new owners who would cherish and nurture their beloved coffee venture, just as they had done throughout the years. Their search led them to Ryan and Jennifer Lindsay. In May 2018, the Lindsays officially assumed ownership of Coast Roast Coffee, breathing new life into the enterprise.
